Often, young dancers start with a full sole leather ballet slipper. The full sole offers a bit more support, and the leather is soft, durable and will stretch with the dancer's foot. If your young dancer is growing quickly, we can size them with a little growing room to help the shoes last longer, but check with your teacher as some prefer them to be more fitted even at a young age.

Currently, stretch canvas shoes are the most popular for both intermediate to advanced students and adult dancers of all levels. Coupled with a split sole, the stretch canvas molds to the dancers foot, hugging the arch and accentuating the pointed foot. This material also allows the shoe to fit snuggly to each unique foot, minimizing bagginess, while flexing with the foot to ensure the toes can still flatten. The lack of drawstring and lower profile also streamline the shape of the foot.
